Interview With 4 Female Entrepreneurs
Spotlight: Female Founders on their proudest moments as women in business
Proudest Moments as Women in Business
As an all-women team here at Benjamin Talks, we celebrate Women’s History Month the best way we know how - by honoring female founders who have built impressive businesses from the ground up.
We asked four leading ladies to share with us their proudest moments as women in business.
Heide Iravani
Heide is the co-founder of Piccolina, a lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering today’s young children to become tomorrow’s leaders and problem solvers.
Heide: “My proudest moment as a founder has been building a brand that helps kids develop an empowered self-perception from the youngest age, and that my own children are able to witness me take action to shape the world in a positive way.”
Kaitlin McGreyes
Kaitlin is the founder of Be Her Village, a baby registry designed to help support new mothers as they navigate the early days with their new babies.
Kaitlin: “If you asked me last year what my proudest moment was, my answer would be: when I was featured on NPR and told the story of becoming a new mom and my pursuit of finding a better baby shower gift. Today though, my proudest moment is when I realized $30,000 has been gifted through BeHerVillage.com directly into the pockets of new parents to pay for their support team. And that countless parents will be able to afford the doulas, postpartum care, lactation, and other support they very much deserve.”
Stacey Effman
Stacey is the co-founder of 12 | 12, a line of organic and sustainable essentials for babies and kids designed to be lived in, played in, and snoozed in - 12 hours a day, 12 hours a night.
Stacey: “My proudest moment in business was when a customer sent us an email explaining the significance of one of our designs to her, and how it reminded her of her mother. She thinks of her whenever she and her son wear their matching set. To be able to have that impact is amazing.”
Jennifer Zuklie
Jennifer is the founder and CEO of The Swoondle Society, an online clothing trading platform that has revolutionized sustainability in children’s fashion.
Jen: “By 2021, I was so proud that Swoondle was able to donate over 60,000 clothing items to families in need, recycled over 6 TONS of damaged textiles AND executed over 100,000 trades keeping so many garments in use longer and helping support so many more families!”
Each year on March 8, we recognize International Women’s Day by honoring the social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women across the globe. We continue to celebrate the women in business who are making an impact in their industries…and sparking real change for good.
